Muath Badawi is the Founder and CEO of BlockBuilders, a fintech company that builds and deploys payment infrastructure for banks, payment service providers, billers, and agent networks across the MENA region. BlockBuilders’ platforms include white-label mobile wallets, payment gateways, electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP), card management systems, and digital identity verification. The company is also Tetra Tech’s local partner in Palestine and the MENA region.

Muath brings extensive expertise spanning financial market infrastructure, payment regulation, and digital transformation. As a payment expert on a financial sector development program in Syria, he supported the development of the regulatory framework for payment service providers in northeast Syria and the licensing of the region’s first PSP, work that gave him direct insight into the needs of the Syrian market.

Prior to founding BlockBuilders in 2023, Muath served as Head of Payment Systems Development & Support at the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA), where he led the development of critical national financial infrastructure, including the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, Automated Clearing House (ACH), and National Switch. He was also a Co-Founder and Operations & Payment Systems Manager at Jawwal Pay, Palestine’s first licensed payment service provider and e-wallet.
